UPT at the workshop: The experience regarding online education at university level in Romania Challenges and future perspectives

Over 100 participants directly involved in the education system gathered in an online debate to improve the Romanian education system during the workshop "Experience regarding online education at university level in Romania. Future challenges and perspectives”. Politehnica University of Timisoara was represented by conf. univ. Dr. Florin Dragan - The rector of UPT and Dr. Diana Andone - the director of CeL. 

The “Keep Us” Association together with the Hanns Seidel Foundation - Romania and in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, the Center for the Study of Democracy and the AD REM Association organized the workshop “Experience regarding online education at university level in Romania. Future challenges and perspectives”. Polytechnic University of Timisoara was represented by conf. univ. dr. Florin Drăgan - Rector of UPT and dr. Diana Andone - director of the ID / IFR and e-Learning Center, who spoke about the experience and challenges of developing an eco-system of digital education in UPT.

The debate took place online, on Zoom and came as a continuation of the steps for the Romanian education system, being meant to encourage and strengthen the dialogue between the main actors interested in the education system and to facilitate the promotion of good practice models. All actors in the education system were invited to participate, to represent, from different perspectives, the education system: teachers, students, parents, civil society education specialists or public institutions.

Dr. Diana Andone - Building up the Digital Education Eco-System of UPT

During the debate, Dr. Diana Andone spoke about the process and challenges of developing a Digital Education ecosystem in the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, presenting the digitalization strategy within UPT, but also the projects for digital transformation of society and academic culture carried out with partners developed by the UPT through the e-Learning Center. The CeL director ended the presentation on a positive note, encouraging all actors in the education system to get involved in the digitalization of education, urging them to collaborate, especially in the context of changes in education during the pandemic.

The presentation aroused high interest among the over 100 participants and was followed by a series of constructive and interesting questions and discussions in the chat area.
