The Politehnica University of Timișoara is intensifying its digital and entrepreneurial transformation efforts through the Accelerate Future HEI project

INTRODUCTION

The Politehnica University of Timișoara takes another step towards its consolidation and transformation into a digitized, innovative and entrepreneurial higher education institution through the Accelerate Future HEI. "Entrepreneurial & Innovative Universities Acceleration Programme" (acronym Accelerate Future HEI) is a project developed in collaboration with E3UDRES2 partners, launched on January 1, 2023.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

With a duration of four years (2023-2026), the Accelerate Future HEI project is funded by Horizon Europe and aims to develop and test services to accelerate the process of institutional transformation, thus supporting higher education institutions in developing their capacity to to become innovative and entrepreneurial universities. Accelerate Future HEI brings together twelve European partners from eleven countries, among which is the Politehnica University of Timișoara.

Participation in this initiative provides higher education institutions with a unique opportunity to identify the key challenges they face and commit time and resources to develop solutions through an Institutional Transformation Action Plan (ITAP).

As a beneficiary, the Politehnica University of Timișoara is one of the higher education institutions that receives personalized guidance through access to skills development programs, thematic workshops, training workshops and knowledge exchange events.

objection

The main objectives of the project are:

  • Identifying the position of the university and its ecosystem regarding entrepreneurial and innovative activities;
  • Development, testing and implementation of acceleration services that support the university in initiating institutional transformation projects;
  • Building the capacity of university staff involved in the project to implement the transformation plan through a skills development and training program;
  • Evaluation of the beneficiary universities' strategies by an "acceleration committee" made up of independent experts;
  • Generating institutional transformation policy feedback to the European Commission, as well as ensuring wide dissemination of pilot results to other target groups.

The project includes seven work packages, the main results of which are the development of a recommendation report on the institutional transformation policy, the analysis of the current situation at the level of each beneficiary university, the development of an Action Plan for Institutional Transformation, the testing and piloting of institutional transformation services, a capacity building and knowledge exchange programme, monitoring and evaluating the impact of the acceleration process, and communicating and disseminating the results to create opportunities for other higher education institutions.
