The Erasmus+ Create 4.0 project – Workshop 2023

The Politehnica University of Timișoara through the e-Learning Center organized on Thursday, October 26, 2023, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., in the Polyvalent Hall of the Politehnica University Library, a workshop dedicated to education in the pre-university environment, with an emphasis on digital skills and the use of virtual and augmented reality elements in the learning process. This event is carried out with the support of the Timiș County School Inspectorate.

The workshop was held in Romanian, gathering a number of approximately 60 physical persons, represented by university, pre-university and high school teachers, and in the online environment the event gathered over 150 active participants. Those who were physically present could try the virtual and augmented reality technologies of the Spotlight Heritage Timișoara brand.

The Erasmus+ Create 4.0 project represents an initiative in the field of pre-university, vocational education, focusing on the integration of virtual and augmented reality technologies in the learning process. It particularly targets specialized, science-based high schools, technological high schools, vocational schools, such as arts, pedagogy, tourism, nutrition, veterinary medicine, etc., aiming to transform the traditional way of teaching into an immersive experience and interactive. With the help of virtual and augmented reality, students can simulate teaching situations or explore different practical environments from the comfort of the classroom. For teachers, Create 4.0 offers flexibility, allowing for rapid adaptation of scenarios to individual student needs and instant feedback. At its core, the project combines cutting-edge technology with pedagogy, providing an adaptive, efficient and engaging learning environment.

Virtual reality enables students to experience and interact with practical environments and situations in an authentic and interactive way, providing a three-dimensional perspective on the subjects studied. This modern approach promotes not only the deepening of knowledge, but also the development of practical skills, in a controlled and safe environment. Thus, each participant will gain a deep understanding of the subject, complemented by the direct and tangible experience offered by these digital technologies, thus preparing for the future.

The results of the project were marked by a transformation in vocational education, by successfully integrating virtual and augmented reality technologies into the classroom, exploring didactic scenarios in an authentic and interactive way. The instant feedback and adaptability offered by these technologies increase the efficiency of the educational process, resulting in a better-prepared generation of students with strengthened practical skills and a modern perspective on their field of study.

The Erasmus+ Create 4.0 project

Create 4.0 is a project co-financed by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union. This represents an evolution of the previous CR.E.ATE project, which defined a common didactic model ("Crafts Atelier") based on the measurement of three categories of professional skills (head/head, hand/heart, heart).
