Pixel_Art - Free digital art classes for students

Pixel_ART is a project created by the platform @Digital: Canvas - a digital art platform dedicated to supporting young artists. Through this project we aim to develop creative skills in the digital environment, a 60 students from the County of Timis through a 18 free courses.
Selected students will have the opportunity to learn various creative techniques in the digital environment, from illustration, graphics to virtual reality and augmented reality (VR and AR) or 3D drawing and collage and to an interactive process of recycling, seeding and photo.
 

In both cases, it is important that students are interested in digital art and eager to experiment in a creative and interactive way with the techniques taught by the mentors of the Pixel_ART project.
Among the qualities of the selected students must be the curiosity related to the digital environment, the openness to art and experiment, the pleasure to draw or to express themselves visually through color or drawing.

Students can register online up to 30th of June, at one of the 6 workshops by filling in the following registration form.

The six workshops:

 

  • Harp in the world of stories / Illustration workshop with Vică-Tila Adorian
In this course, stories can inspire you, but your imagination will help you overcome the limits and create your own character to translate into a drawing and illustrate a fantastic story. Here, your mentor will be Vică-Tilă Adorian, university professor at the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara. He is the one who lets children dream, giving them the chance to discover their own talent.

It is intended for high school students and will take place at the Faculty of Arts and Design Timisoara, between September and October 2021; the exact dates will be announced later.

  • Arp, augmented pixel/ Augmented and virtual reality workshop with Silviu Vert
Surely you have heard of AR or VR and if you are curious to explore these technologies, Silviu Vert professor at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara will reveal this incredible world and help you create your own virtual objects or characters that you can see in the world through special devices. Silviu is convinced that imagination and creative power have no boundaries.

The workshop is addressed to high school students. It will take place at CEL - Polytechnic University of Timisoara, between July 5 and 9; the exact dates will be announced later.

  • Harp draws on the walls/ Digital drawing workshop with Marius Jurca
Do you like to draw? It's like your drawing is miraculously transposed on a wall! And what if you could send a message with this drawing and when you want you can make it disappear. Did I make you curious? Marius Jurca is also a visual artist known under the pseudonym 13m10j, he is the co-founder of the artouching studio and the Digital: Canvas platform. It will reveal the secrets of digital drawing and collage, and with the help of the Scribit robot your drawing will be transposed on the wall. Marius is meticulous, has a lot of patience and creativity and likes to combine creation with play to offer special interactive experiences.

It is addressed to middle school students. The workshop will take place in the artouching studio, between September and October; the exact dates will be announced later.

  • Arp gardens and photographs/ Creative recycling and photography workshop with Livia Mateiaș (Gymnasium)
Have you ever thought that you can plant seeds in your balcony?
In this workshop, guided by Livia Mateiaș, you will have the opportunity to discover how you can reuse plastic objects in a creative way. These will be transformed into painted pots in which you will sow various seeds together. Then you will take care of these seeds and you will follow their growth, documenting the process through photography. We will learn how to edit these photos and turn them into a photo project. Livia is a visual artist, she co-founded the artouching studio and the Digital: Canvas platform. She is a creator of T-shirts and is the manager of the Pixel_ART project. She has a free spirit, interested in art, ecology and harmony, she likes to inspire people towards creativity. Together you will discover the world of plants and pixels.
 
It is addressed to middle school students. It will be held in the Plant Park and the Young Naturalists Resort, in July, the exact dates will be announced later.
 
  • Arp is experiencing the digital image / Digital Graphics Workshop with Ion Gherman (High School)

Do you want to learn to edit various images as you like, to combine them or even translate your own idea into a poster or other advertising graphic material? If so, then the course of Ion Gherman, university lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timisoara, will definitely be to your liking. Ion is calm and friendly and will help you see how easy it is to express yourself through the graphic image.

This workshop is dedicated to high school students. It will take place at the Faculty of Arts and Design Timișoara, between July 12, 16 and 18, at 2 p.m.

  • Arp sculpts 3D/ Digital sculpture workshop with Aura Bălănescu (High School)
If you could create a space or a virtual object what would it look like? Aura Bălănescu challenges you to a digital sculpture workshop where you will have the opportunity to explore virtual and augmented reality technologies. Aura is a visual artist, the founder of the Tehnoarte association and the AvantPost artistic group and is interested in how she can bring aspects of science and technology to art..

It is addressed to middle school students. It will take place at the Tehnoarte studio, between September and October, the exact dates will be announced later.
