Over 500 participants physically and virtually at the IAFeS NETTIES International Conference & DigiCulture Erasmus + Closing Workshop
Politehnica University of Timișoara, through the ID / IFR and e-Learning Center and the Multimedia Center together with the IAFeS International Association and the Triade Foundation organized, during July 22-23 2021 IAFeS NETTIES International Conference & DigiCulture Erasmus + Closing Workshop. The event gathered over 500 participants both physically, in the Auditorium of the UPT Conference Center, and virtually, through Zoom and Facebook.
The opening of the conference was preceded by the virtual workshop DigiCulture Project and Courses, organized by the DigiCulture Erasmus + team Thursday, July 22 and in which, over 300 of participants discovered on the Zoom platform and live, on Facebook, those 13 DigiCulture courses, as well as the open digital certificates granted after their completion, presented by the international project partners. The workshop took place in Romanian and the participants received open digital certificates Together Online, also expressing their enthusiasm to enroll in DigiCulture Erasmus + courses.
The official opening of the Conference International IAFeS NETTIES & Workshop concluding DigiCulture Erasmus +, took place on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Triade Foundation, in the presence of over 50 participants. They were able to discover the exhibition with the theme "Avocado salad with light clarity in the morning", exhibiting 20 young artists, mostly students.
On the same occasion, the team Multimedia Center celebrated 25 years of the Multimedia Research Center within the Polytechnic University of Timișoara. The Multimedia Research Center carries out educational, research and innovation activities in the context of information and communication technologies, being focused in recent years on Interactive Multimedia Techniques and Technologies, Smart Cities, Open Data, Augmented Reality Entrepreneurship in ICT, ICT and Multimedia Promotion, Technologies advanced educational, OER, MOOCs. The Multimedia Center carries out activities to support entrepreneurship in ICT, to promote digital culture and annually organizes the IDMSC student competition International Digital Media Student Contest. The Multimedia Center supports educational specializations at the undergraduate level but also at Master in Multimedia Technologies and to the Master in Technologies, systems and applications for eActivities (e-media, e-business, e-health, e-government).
Conference International IAFeS NETTIES & Erasmus + DigiCulture Closing Workshop took place on Friday, July 23, both in the Auditorium and online, on the Zoom platform and live on Facebook, registering over 200 participants - physical and virtual. The hosts of the event were Dr. Eng. Diana Andone, Polytechnic University - director of the UPT e-Learning Center, prof. Dr. Eng. Radu Vasiu - the president of IAFeS, the president of the UPT Senate and the president of the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Florin Dragan - the rector of UPT, Prof. Johann Gunther - Secretary General IAFeS and dr. Sorina Jecza - President of the Triad Foundation.
Dozens of papers on the conference were presented at the conference Digital culture in education, science and technology by IAFeS and DigiCulture partners, from countries such as Romania, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Greece or Germany. Participants received, for the first time in the history of NETTIES, open digital participation certificates. The event was a real success, with dozens of messages of congratulations and thanks from the participants.
The Erasmus + project Digital Culture - Improving digital skills and improving the social inclusion of adults in the creative industries has developed a sustainable and effective education program, dedicated to adult learners with low digital skills and low-skilled adults, involved in the creative industries sector in Romania, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Lithuania, Great Britain and Ireland. The main results include online, free, MOOC courses for digital skills and social inclusion for the creative industries, their certification through open digital certificates.
International Association for Science / Internationaler Verein für eScience (IAFeS) operates worldwide, with a focus on international collaboration and the promotion of science, based in Vienna, Austria.
