Open VM: Virtual mobility webinar for European universities and university alliances

The Virtual Mobility Webinar for European universities and university alliances took place between 18-19 June 2020 - the last “multiplier” event within the Open Virtual Mobility project, the webinar being focused on quality and sustainability and integrated in Output 7. As happened during the three years of the project, Output 7 was developed in close collaboration by EADTU and UIB. EADTU thus hosted the event online, registering success among the participants.

During the first day, the session was dedicated to good practices and innovative pedagogies for training international collaboration and virtual mobility, and on the second day of the webinar, the Open VM project was presented with more details.

Dr. Diana Andone, director of the e-Learning Center at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara spoke about the online presence and project activities in recent years and presented the Open VM website and virtual hub.

Diana also exposed the challenges faced by the team in the project, in the process of developing a personal learning environment, with common work areas and open to collaboration, dividing the hub into different main areas based on content, market, activities and open data, but also self-assessment activities.

The Open VM mobile application was also presented, through which the courses on mobile devices can be accessed, an application developed following the most innovative usability methods.

In addition, Dr. Diana Andone also presented some data from the platform, since their launch in May 2019. Different types of users visited and accessed the Open VM learning platform during the pilot period and undertook a lot of activities. Among them were students from a variety of countries, with different levels of education and different experiences in using different tools.

The presentation aroused great interest among the participants, who asked a series of questions and received answers in the Q&A section.
