These are the questions that this webinar found the answers to, under the slogan #onlinetogether.

During the webinar, experts in the field presented the advantages of open educational resources that can benefit both those in the higher and secondary education and they focused on delivering online education virtually to anyone without time and space limit..

Prof.dr.ing. Carmen Holotescu, Conf.dr. Gabriela Grosseck and Dr. Diana Andone presented practical examples of the use and integration of OER and MOOCs in education, with case studies from the experience of three universities in Romania.

Webinar main message was: Open education is the way to learn and build knowledge through collaboration.

Being a topical issue even before the # covid19 pandemic, participants were able to learn from the practical experience of the presenters.

During the webinar,over 500 participants were present, both from the higher and secondary environment, as well as from other fields. Moreover, the participation of a large number of students has demonstrated their constant involvement in the development of online activity.

The presentation was dynamic, presenting materials and lists for reusable open educational resources, activities related to OER and MOOCs and their implementation, education plan and actions, online experience , feedback and student benefits (autonomy, critical thinking, creativity, the ability to synthesize and analyze information, etc.), as well as synchronous - asynchronous communication.

In conclusion, the webinar had a series of active answers to the questions raised by the participants.

BIO

Prof.dr.eng. Carmen Holotescu

Carmen Holotescu is a Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, Director of the Center for Open Education and Blockchain part of the „Ioan Slavici” University of Timișoara, Romania with a PhD on new technologies and open education. She has participated in many European projects and has a rich experience in designing and implementing learning and collaborative platforms based on open pedagogies. She has written over 100 articles and chapters/books related to eLearning/Blended Learning, Social Media, Open Educational Resources (OER), Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) and Blockchain, mentioned in more than 1,500 citations. She is an online certified instructor of the University of Maryland University College, USA, facilitating for 12 years online courses at this university.

Conf.dr. Gabriela Grosseck

Dr. Gabriela Grosseck is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology of the West University of Timișoara, Romania. With a large experience in the use of ICT in education (teaching, learning and research), she is particularly concerned with the training of students and teachers, both in face-to-face and online environments. For over a decade she has been editor-in-chief of the Journal of Social Informatics in Romania. Author of numerous articles in the field of e-learning she has a sustained presence as a speaker at different international events, organizer of workshops or member of different editorial committees (journals and/or conferences). Her research interests cover the main aspects of open education (OERs / OEPs and MOOCs), Web 2.0 tools and social media applications in higher education and, more recently, the education for durable development.

Dr. Diana Andone

Dr. Diana Andone (@ diando70) is the director of the eLearning Center of Politehnica University of Timișoara, with responsibilities in the planning and implementation of distance learning and the integration of the use of online educational technologies for all forms of education, through the UPT Virtual Campus - CVUPT . Dr. Andone is a lecturer in multimedia and web technologies, with an intense research activity at international level through various projects with European funding and multiple publications (with over 17 books, 80 scientific papers, 11 Best paper Awards). Passionate about the use of technologies in everyday life, Diana promotes the use of open resources OER and MOOCs, developing UniCampus - online courses in Romania. Dr. Andone is strongly involved in the activity of the scientific community through various management functions of international associations EDEN (Vice-president), IEEE Romania, IEEE CS TCLT, but also by supporting the activity of the regional community of start-up and innovation, cultural and social responsibility.

Șl.dr.eng Vlad Mihaescu

Vlad Mihaescu has a PhD in educational and technological models of MOOCs and has more than 10 years’ experience as a trainer and teacher in areas like multimedia technologies, social media, e-tourism, e-learning, usability, programming, soft skills and leadership. Author of over 25 scientific papers and book chapters published in international conferences and journals, Vlad is involved in several European research projects in the field of eLearning. He is also a lecturer for UPT.
