ID and IFR students participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 2022-2023 academic year – online

Virtual emotions, for students in distance and part-time courses who participated, Saturday, October 1 2022 to Opening ceremony of the ID / IFR academic year. The event took place online, being broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube of the e-Learning Center and brought together over 200 students, teaching staff, university management, deans, vice-deans and academic managers from the 4 faculties, as well as the ID/IFR and e-Learning Center team.

The ceremony was opened by the host of the event, Dr. Diana Andone, the director of the e-Learning Center, who welcomed the students and all the participants. The opening of the year was then traditionally marked by the singing of the UPT anthem.

Dr. Eng. Diana Andone, CeL director: "We are making this opening online again, to make it easier for our students, who are spread not only in Europe, but also on other continents."

"We are glad that you have decided to join the Politehnica University of Timișoara and learn remotely or part-time for the four specializations. I'm sure there will be some interesting years, maybe a little challenging and maybe with a lot of difficulties (...), so please don't give in, don't leave and don't distance yourself from us."

Prof. Dr. Liviu Cădariu-Brăilioiu, vice-rector of the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, responsible for the research and procurement part of the UPT and didactic mathematics framework, took the floor from the University management. 

"Starting today, you are part of this family, part of the Polytechnic University, a university of tradition, (...) but also open to the future, a university that, in addition to current research and education activities (...), is also involved in very important for the cultural area. The university is an important vector in the process that will coordinate next year the actions related to Timișoara, the European Capital of Culture in 2023.", he conveyed to the new students. 

Faculty of Automation and Computers - Informatics - ID

Welcome to the students at Informatics - ID came from Prof. Dr. Eng. Marius Marc - the dean of the faculty of Automation and Computers:

"I'm glad that you chose to invest in your future, in your education, by choosing our faculty (...), the computer science field, that is, a dynamic field, a field of the future, but not a simple field. (…) I recommend you ask questions, try to learn from a teacher, because you won't be able to do it alone. I would like this distance education to bring us closer - teacher, student and vice versa."

One of the promoters of distance education in UPT for more than two decades and, at the same time, teacher in Computer Science specialization - prof. univ. dr. eng. Lăcrămioara Stoicu-Tivadar congratulated the students for the choice and courage to come students to the Computer Science specialization.

"Take advantage of all the teachers of the Faculty of Automation and Computers as much as possible. (…) You have 3 quite difficult years ahead of you, but with challenges, and you are people of challenges, because otherwise you would not have come to Informatics at Politehnica Timișoara."

Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies - TST ID

University of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies was represented by dean Prof. Dr. Eng. Dan Lascu

"We, the teachers, have a joy, that year after year we can give each other gifts, (...) namely hope. Russo used to say that there are a thousand awards for good speeches and none for good deeds, and by the nature of the profession, we engineers have to do the actual deed - that's what defines us. (…) I congratulate you for choosing this refuge and I assure you that it will not disappoint you."

Also from the faculty ETCTI, the academic responsible for distance learning and promoter of this form of education from the beginning, university professor Dr. Eng. Radu Vasiu, the president of the Senate of the Polytechnic University, spoke to ID/IFR students:

"Students have chosen a good, top university, and this will do nothing but increase their prestige when they finish their studies. That's why I would like them to think about this every time they have a hard time. (…) I am convinced that the final satisfactions will be commensurate. There will have to be a lot of determination from everyone to get to the finish we all want."

Prof. Dr. Eng. Florin Alexa, University of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies wanted to say a few words to the students from TST ID:

 "If you have chosen this path, think that you are doing it for yourself. (…) Set your goals as high as possible, because if you set low goals and reach them, afterwards you have to think about what goal you have left."

Faculty of Communication Sciences - CRP - ID

From the side Faculty of Communication Sciences he took the floor conf Simon Simon, vice dean of the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations and teaching staff at the CRP ID specialization:

"It is an important moment for all those who are making their debut in the academic life of the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, a university with tradition, a university that places knowledge and man at the center of its actions. (…) As you have seen, in recent years we have faced various situations in which communication had a difficult word to say in everything that followed in our society."

Academic responsible for distance learning from the specialization Communication and Public Relations and professor in the department, conf. Dr. Gabriel-Mugurel Dragomir then took the floor.

"Students came to a university where teachers learn alongside students. (…) Even if there were difficult moments, which we went through together, we are glad that we had the CeL team with us."

Faculty of Mechanics - TCM - IFR

For students from the specialization Machine Construction Technology, Faculty of Mechanics - IFR a spoken Prof. Virgil Stoica, dean of the faculty:

 "What I want from you is to come to school with energy and an open mind, (...) surely then things will go smoothly and the path will be paved."

Academic responsible for specialization Machine Construction Technology, Faculty of Mechanics - IFR, etc. Dr. Eng. Adrian Dume then took over the floor for the students of one of the oldest faculties in UPT:

"I want to assure you that all my colleagues who participate in your training will give you everything you need, all the support, you will certainly have the support of the CeL team. Always what is beautiful is also difficult. (…) We hope that you will advertise us at the beautiful UPT university all over the globe, because it has been proven that year after year we have students from outside the borders as well."

The students then learned the last details about the operation UPT Virtual Campus – the education management platform at ID/IFR, in a training supported by members of the technical team from the e-Learning Center.
