In these times of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, just like in other countries, face-to-face educational functions and activities are being moved online, using apps, platforms and various tools for distance education.

In the Online together webinars , we respond to these challenges, in the most practical way possible, in the spirit of open education and free access to knowledge. Participants received an Open Badge (Open digital certificate) - Online together.

Over 400 participants, including academics, students and pupils from Romania, Europe and the USA were accompanied by Prof. Daniela Rus (MIT), virtually, at the ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Professor of the Politehnica University of Timisoara, by UPT Senate and in the presence of the management and members of the UPT Board of Directors.

The event took place during the 18th edition of the Online Together webinars and was broadcast live on the Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube platforms, through which hundreds of participants sent dozens of questions, messages and comments addressed to both Daniela Rus , as well as the presenters of the webinar.

The webinar also benefited from a practical session in which Prof. Daniela Rus - Director of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology - USA inspired the audience with a presentation of the latest research papers in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning and intelligent robots, advancing a series of futuristic visions through which the robots of the future could improve their daily lives, impacting areas such as navigation, industry, medicine or daily domestic activities.
