In these times of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, just like in other countries, face-to-face educational functions and activities are being moved online, using apps, platforms and various tools for distance education.
Many of us are struggling with the adjustment to working and teaching online, especially those who have always taught in a traditional classroom and are now being asked to rapidly regroup and prepare for a longer period of educational “social distancing” .
In this webinar, colleagues from Polytechnic University of Bucharest presented the technical infrastructure and the platforms they use for an online activity suitable for this period, and over 100 participants they asked the presenters various questions related to this topic, which are very important at the present time.
Main message sent: New information technologies are the key to lifelong learning, a valuable online learning, able to bring significant advantages over existing solutions.
However, experts within Polytechnic University of Bucharest, said that for the training of young people, direct interaction will remain an important component of education.

Prof.univ.dr.ing. Mariana Mocanu
Mariana Mocanu is a professor in the Computer department at UPB, whose director was in the period 2016-2020. He was part of the team that developed and implemented the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education in Romania. He participated in 6 TEMPUS / ERASMUS + projects with the theme of quality assurance and skills development in higher education. Coordinates the master's program "eGovernment" and the research laboratory "Interoperable products and services for decision support, based on geospatial data". He was the director of the H2020-TWINN-2015 project - “Excellence in Smart Data and Services for Supporting Water Management”.
