Digital transformation and entrepreneurship at UPT, presented at the UIIN Summit by Dr. Diana Andone

Between October 28–29, 2026, in Lisbon, this year's edition of the UIIN summit took place, a landmark international event dedicated to the theme "Building Entrepreneurial and Innovative Universities that Deliver Impact"„.

The conference brought together leaders and experts from academia and socio-economic backgrounds to analyze how higher education institutions are adapting to current challenges and increasing their relevance through innovation.

On behalf of Politehnica University Timișoara participated Dr. Diana Andone, the director of the Department of ID/IFR and Digital Education (DeL UPT), who, inwithin the interactive section dedicated to case studies – Accelerate Showcase – presented two papers illustrating the university's strategic directions:

„"Beyond Digital: Creating Lasting Impact with UPT Digital Transformation Journey"” (authors: Diana Andone, Radu Vasiu) – a presentation focused on the evolution of UPT's digital transformation journey, highlighting how technology adoption generates a lasting impact and transforms organizational culture.
„"InoHub: From Curious Student to Startup Founder"” (authors: Vlad Mihaescu, Silviu Vert, Valentin Nita; presented by Diana Andone) – a paper dedicated to the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the university, which details the path supported by the institution for students to move from simple academic curiosity to founding their own start-ups.
