OpenDigCompEdu: Improving digital skills for educators
The project Open Digital Competences Training for School Educators (known as OpenDigCompEdu), held between 2021 and 2024, had as its main purpose improving teachers' digital skills in pre-university education, to enable them to use technology more effectively in the teaching-learning process. Funded by the Erasmus+ program, the project brought together a consortium of 6 partners from 5 European countries: Romania, Greece, Cyprus, Spain and Italy.

Over the course of the 3 years, OpenDigCompEdu carried out a series of activities and produced a portfolio of valuable resources, including:
- Research and analysis: The project included a research component to evaluate the impact of the activities carried out and identify the real needs of teachers in terms of digital skills.
- A methodological guide: It provides teachers with practical tools and concrete recommendations for integrating technology into the classroom, adapted to different subjects and levels of study.
- An e-learning platform: It hosts free online courses for teachers, covering various topics relevant to the development of digital skills.
- An online community of practice: A virtual space where teachers can exchange ideas, experiences and best practices related to the use of technology in education.
- Training and dissemination events: Workshops, seminars and conferences were organized to present the project results and provide teachers with direct training opportunities.
- Research and analysis: The project included a research component to evaluate the impact of the activities carried out and identify the real needs of teachers in terms of digital skills.

✔ Open digital education ecosystem;
✔ Teaching with open digital tools;
✔ Online evaluation;
✔ Open EdTech for sustainability, diversity and inclusion;

Project impact during 2021-2024:
The project OpenDigCompEdu was an important initiative for the modernisation of education in Europe, by developing the digital skills of teachers and promoting the effective use of technology in the classroom, contributing significantly to:
- Increasing the level of digital skills of teachers: Participants in courses and workshops improved their skills in using technology for pedagogical purposes.
- Promoting the use of technology in the classroom: Teachers were encouraged and supported to more effectively integrate digital tools into the teaching process.
- Improving the quality of education: The appropriate use of technology has helped create more interactive, engaging, and effective lessons for students.
- Creating a network of innovative teachers: The online community of practice facilitated the exchange of experience and collaboration between teachers from different countries.
