Prof. (FH) Dr. Tassilo Pellegrini studied International Trade at the University of Linz, then studied Communication Sciences and Political Science at the University of Salzburg and the University of Malaga. Since the end of 2007, he has been a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten. He is a member of the International Network of Information Ethics (INIE), the African Network of Information Ethics (ANIE) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft (DGPUK). In addition to his specialization in media economics and policy research, Dr. Pellegrini has conducted in-depth research on semantic technologies, the Semantic Web and its use in the media industry. He is co-founder of the Semantic Web Company in Vienna, co-editor of the first German manual on the Semantic Web, and chairman of the annual conference series I-SEMANTICS, founded in 2005.
