Markus Seidl is an expert in computer vision and pattern recognition, known for his extensive involvement in digital heritage projects. Between 2010 and 2016, he collaborated with archaeologists on digital cave art documentation and analysis methods, obtaining the award Europa Nostra in 2016. In addition, he develops interactive digital artifacts for museums, especially multi-touch tabletop applications aimed at engaging young audiences. These applications have been presented in several prestigious institutions. He is currently exploring the integration of visitors' own devices into museum digital ecosystems. Markus Seidl has been a lecturer since 2004 and FH professor since 2011, leading the Media Computing Research Group and serving as CEO of the Institute for Creative Media Technologies from 2015 to 2020.
