Alina Irimia, Project coordinator Open Science at UEFISCDI

Alina Irimia coordinates the Open Science Knowlesge Hub Romania (OSKH) group and has been working for over 14 years as an expert in strategic planning within the Executive Agency for the Financing of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (UEFISCDI), contributing to the development of policies for research and innovation. He has been involved in activities related to open science for the last 8 years, collaborating with international initiatives and organizations such as OpenAIRE, RDA, Science Europe. CoNOSC – of which he is a Board Director since 2023, and recently joined the IAU's Open Science working group. Between 2019 and 2022, he coordinated the process of developing the strategic framework for open science in Romania, realized in White Paper on the Transition to Open Science. Alina obtained her doctorate in sociology at the University of Bucharest, her research being focused on the sociology of science and the importance of sharing scientific results for prospective studies and society in general. Alina is also an open science policy expert at the UNESCO Chair for Science and Innovation Policy at SNSPA.

Alina Irimia is leading the Open Science related projects part of the Open Science Knowledge Hub at the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI). Open Science has been the focus of her activity in the past 8 years, while she had the chance to collaborate with extraordinary initiatives and people at the international level, such as UNESCO, Science Europe (OS WG), OpenAIRE, EOSC, occur to of which she is part of the Board starting 2023, and recently joined the IAU WG on OS. In the period 2019 – 2022, she has coordinated the process of developing the National Strategic Framework for Open Science in Romania, embodied in the White Paper on the Transition to Open Science 2023-2030. In 2020, Alina obtained her PhD in sociology at the University of Bucharest, focusing her research on the sociology of science, the new era of scientific communication, and the Mode 3 of knowledge production. Currently, she is also an Open Science policy expert at the UNESCO Chair for Science and Innovation Policy at SNSPA- Bucharest.

The ID / IFR and e-Learning Center (CeL) was established in 1998, as an integral part of the Polytechnic University of Timişoara (UPT).
CeL organizes the specializations - Technologies and Systems of Telecommunications, Applied Informatics, Communication and Public Relations in distance education under license cycle and Technology of Machine Constructions in education with reduced frequency of license cycle.
