Digital competences and skills for Creativity

What are the creative industries? What are digital competencies and what are digital skills? How to apply them in the field of creative industries How to access, use and integrate various online, mobile tools?

Practical examples of Internet use and integration, WorldWideWeb, mobile, augmented reality, virtual reality, open data - open data, interactive presentations, online image and video editing and processing, music and sound applications, media and networks social, the use of web resources for promotion, marketing, etc.

Creative industries are defined as: Advertising and marketing, Architecture and landscapes, Crafts and other fields of cultural heritage, Design: product, graphics and fashion design, Film, TV, video, radio and photography, IT, digital economy and games, Museums , galleries and libraries, Music, visual arts and performing arts.

With 13 international speakers from the USA, Europe, and Romania, the workshop is addressed to all actors in the field of creative industries, students, university professors, but also to those in the field of tourism.

 

Dr. Diana Andone (UPT): Creative Industries and Their Impact on Society.
Creative industries are defined as: Advertising and marketing, Architecture and landscapes, Crafts and other fields of cultural heritage, Design, product, graphics and fashion design, Publishing and media, Film, TV, video, radio and photography, IT, digital economy and games, Museums, galleries and libraries, Music, visual arts and entertainment. The creative economy is not only one of the fastest growing sectors of the world economy, but it is also extremely transformative, with a certain appeal to the young generation, with a role in job creation and community action.

Dr. Carmen Simon: Using Creativity for Success
No one doubts that creativity is the key to business success. That's right, but a key can be rotated in two directions. Rotate it in a way and drive people away. Turn it upside down and you can open the creative genius. How do you find the right direction? Attend this short session to learn some practical guidelines that you can use to invigorate your creativity and see the impact in the field that is important to you.

Dr. Stephanie Carretero-Gomez: DigComp 2.1: Digital Competency Model
The presentation will include the European Digital Competences Framework, DigComp 2.1 with the 8 skill levels and usage examples, as well as the latest DigComp developments, such as the implementation guide for the digital skills assessment framework and tool.

Mark Frydenberg (Bentley University, USA): Virtual Reality - examples and applications
How do you start using Virtual Reality? We will look at several sets of VR headsets, computing requirements, free and paid application sources, which can be used to generate creativity and innovation using virtual reality in a variety of industries.

 
Participation is free, presentations will be held in Romanian and English and a certificate of participation will be issued.

Dr. Stephanie Carretero-Gomez holds the position of scientific researcher within the Department of Human Capital and Employment within the European Commission.

Mark Frydenberg is Senior Lecturer at Bentley University, a successful author of the Cengage Learning series. Mark's professional interests include the use of technology in education. He is the Director of CIS Learning and Technology Sandbox (http://cis.bentley.edu/sandbox) and is a frequent speaker at conferences on the use of web 2.0 technologies.

Dr. Carmen Simon, Rexi Media
Carmen is a cognitive neuroscience expert and co-founder of Rexi Media, a company that uses brain science to help corporations create memorable messages.
She is also a successful author, with numerous publications and a frequent keynote speaker at conferences in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.
Her latest book, Impossible to Ignore: Creating Memorable Content to Influence Decisions, was selected as one of the top ten books of the year in the mentions of various specialized publications such as Inc.com. Forbes and Fast Company.
Being an experienced scientist in the field of neurology, with two doctorates in instructional technology and cognitive psychology, Dr. Simon turned to the latest findings in neurological research to use memory to influence decisions.

Florin Cornianu - A graduate of the Polytechnic, Florin has participated in several entrepreneurial projects over the last 10 years. Many have failed, but everyone thinks he has learned something.
For 6 years he has dedicated himself exclusively to 123FormBuilder, managing together with the team to grow the company to almost 100 employees and clients from all over the world.

Raul Geana - Has over 10 years of experience in the field of Start-ups. He has also been a CTO at New Haircut for over 5 years. Raul has coordinated several successful projects in both Europe and the United States. Over the years, he became involved in the community of Timisoara, being the founder of several meet-ups, including the one of AWS. He is passionate about technology and innovation and believes that together they are the key to long-term success.

Prof. Radu Vasiu he completed his master's and doctoral studies in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara in 1982 and 1997, respectively. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara. His research areas and fields in recent years have been oriented towards "open data", smart cities, mobile applications, e-learning, multimedia and web technologies. Since 1993, he has been involved in more than 30 international projects (Tempus, Phare, Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci, Life Long Learning, FP6, etc.), especially in the field of multimedia and e-learning, both as a coordinator, as well as as a contractor. Since 2016 he is the President of the Senate of the Polytechnic University of Timisoara and since 2004 he has been the Director of the Multimedia Center. He has been a visiting professor at various universities in the United Kingdom, Finland, France, Austria, Greece and the Netherlands. Currently, Prof. Vasiu is the president of the International Association for e-Science (IAFeS), which promotes internationally the use of ICT in science and technology. He is also a member of the IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Communications Society, European Association for Telematics Applications (EATA), European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN), International Association of Science and Technology Engineers for Development (IASTED), European Portal for Advanced Collaboration in E-learning (EuroPACE) and the Commission for the European integration of academic Romania - Timisoara branch.

Dr. Diana Andone is the director of the e-Learning Center at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, with responsibilities in planning and implementing distance learning and integrating the use of online educational technologies for all forms of education, through the Virtual Campus of UPT - CVUPT. Dr. Andone is a lecturer in multimedia and web technologies, with an intense research activity at international level through various projects with European funding and multiple publications. Passionate about the use of technologies in everyday life, Diana promotes the use of open resources and MOOCs, developing UniCampus - online courses in Romania. The list of publications includes 9 books and 82 papers presented at international conferences, she being a referent for 12 International Conferences, 4 magazines, 7 awards for the best work, obtained at various conferences and since 2010 she is co-president of WWW / IADIS International Internet Conference. In recent years, she has been involved in 21 European-funded projects. In 2012, she received the title of EDEN (European Distance and E-Learning Network) member, and in 2014 she was elected a member of the EDEN Executive Committee.

I would. Dr. Eng. Andrei Ternauciuc he is an assistant professor at the Department of Communications within the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, but also one of the technical administrators of the Virtual Campus of UPT - the official platform for e-learning of the university. He has over 10 years of experience working with learning management systems and has contributed to the design and implementation of various e-learning platforms, including ViCaDiS - Virtual Campus for Digital Students, CVUPT, UniCampus.ro and others.

I would. Dr. Ing. Silviu Vert is an assistant at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara and completed his doctoral studies exploring the potential of open data in augmented reality applications.
He is also a developer for the e-Learning platform of UPT - Virtual Campus. He is actively involved in advocacy activities in "open government" and at local and national level.

Dr. Vlad Mihaescu He has a PhD in educational and technological models MOOCs and has 8 years of experience as a trainer in areas such as multimedia technologies, social media, e-tourism, e-learning, usability, programming, soft skills and leadership. Author of over 20 scientific papers and book chapters published at international conferences and magazines, Vlad has entrepreneurial experience in ITC, event organization and tourism. He is currently the CEO of Nanotech, a consulting and training company. Vlad is the only licensed facilitator in Central and Eastern Europe for Robin Sharma's Lead Without a Title course. He is also an associate teacher of UPT.

Dr. Cristian Tzecu is a climber, speleologist, photographer and for a long time photo educator.

Victor Holotescu is a UPT master student in the 2nd year at Multimedia Technologies, with 5 years of experience in developing mobile applications. In its portfolio are parking applications via SMS, TPark, ArtEncounters applications, ArtTM, UPT Virtual Campus. He won prizes in profile competitions and participated in an Erasmus internship at the University of Oulu, Finland.
