Digital Culture & Heritage Talks, XR Show, with NFT launch
Polytechnic University of Timisoara, through the ID/IFR and e-Learning Center and the Multimedia Center, along with Banat National Museum and Timisoara 2023, organizes a whole weekend of events dedicated to the official opening of Timișoara European Capital of Culture 2023 cultural program.
So on Friday February 17, 2023, between 09:00 – 17:00 will take place The hybrid conference "Heritage under the spotlight Timișoara - Digital Culture & Heritage Talks", which will bring a series of innovative ideas, solutions and digital culture projects, and, for the first time in the Romanian landscape, the launch the NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens) I Spotlight Heritage-Timisoara2023.
the event will continue with one Show XR, which will take place in the premises of the UPT (Experimentarium TM and UPT Museum), 18 -19 February 2023, between 10:00 -17:00 and will include shows of digital technologies (augmented / virtual / mixed reality, holograms, interactive applications) and science (spectacular physics demonstrations, chemistry experiments for the 5 senses, the presentation of Timisoara's technical premieres).
Culture and Digital Heritage Conferences and XR Show with the launch of NFT Spotlight Heritage Timișoara
Digital Culture & Heritage Talks aims to provide a space for discussion of current trends and projects related to the intersection of artistic practices and digital technology, with a particular focus on educational and community impact.
The conference brings together a range of cultural, educational, artistic, critical and scientific perspectives, giving visibility to recent or ongoing development work in different countries and cultural contexts.
Based on the concepts of the Spotlight Heritage Timișoara project and the Timișoara 2023 European Capital of Culture program, we aim to discuss how digital technologies have contributed to the creation of new territories and stimulated different innovations in cultural production, creative instances, curatorial practices and spaces museums.
The conference is part of the Cultural Program Timișoara European Capital of Culture and Opening Timișoara 2023 and brings a diverse category of international speakers, from the area of heritage and digital culture and partly from partner universities E³UDRES² (European Universities Alliance). The event will take place on February 17, 2023, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., in the Conference Center of Politehnica University of Timisoara (Bulevardul Vasile Pârvan, no. 2 B, next to the UPT Central Library) and online. The conference will add to the cultural ecosystem of Timisoara by launching, in Premiere in the Romanian landscape, a the NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens) I Spotlight Heritage-Timisoara2023. In addition to the conference, the program will include a series of events that will highlight the specifics of the city (technical - industrial - creative). The program will include an XR show in the UPT premises (e.g. Experimentarium, UPT Museum), an exhibition with experiments, which will expose the allegory of the 5 senses that guided the project every year and will also include live broadcasts of the street exhibition Spotlight Heritage Timișoara from the Giroc neighborhood, points that will arouse the interest of passers-by in the project, will actively involve them and invite them to the other activities.
Participation by preference – participation is free, based on registration: in-situ in the Auditorium room of the UPT Conference Center and online.
XR Show Spotlight Heritage Timișoara in the UPT Experimentarium and Museum
XR Show will take place in February 18-19, 2023, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m, is part of the Timișoara European Capital of Culture Cultural Program and Opening Timișoara 2023 and will include shows of digital technologies (augmented / virtual / mixed reality, holograms, interactive applications) and science (spectacular physics demonstrations, chemistry experiments for the 5 senses, the presentation of the technical premieres of Timișoara), organized in the form of guided tours in the space Experimentarium TM and of UPT Museum. It promotes the transformation of dependence on technology into dependence on culture, heritage and science, by increasing the general public's interest in the historical districts of Timișoara, using digital storytelling and stimulating locals/tourists to experience and co-create the cultural heritage of the city.
