Timișoara students, digital creators with the DeL team: VR tours, AR applications and exciting games of Timișoara!
Dozens of students from the "Grigore Moisil" Theoretical High School in Timișoara stepped into the fascinating world of digital creation, guided by the DeL team. In the framework of two creative workshops the brand Spotlight Heritage Timișoara, students learned to use innovative technologies to explore the rich history and culture of their hometown.
Team Spotlight Heritage Timisoaraa, through the Department of ID/IFR and digital education of the Timișoara Polytechnic University, in partnership with the "Grigore Moisil" Theoretical High School Timișoara, through Prof. Magda Gurzun, organized during June 2024 a series of interactive workshops dedicated to high school students and supported by the experts from DeL UPT.
The project, a continuation of the initiative "Spotlight Heritage Timisoara", offers a unique platform for students to discover and present the hidden stories of Timisoara through interactive virtual tours, augmented reality applications and immersive VR games.
Guided by Dr. Eng. Diana Andone and Eng. Marius Tataru (Department of ID/IFR and Digital Education), high school students learned to:
- creates immersive virtual tours of Timisoara, using 3D modeling through the CoSpaces platform, allowing the public a virtual journey through the city's picturesque streets and iconic monuments.
- develop augmented reality applications, revealing the fascinating stories of prominent personalities and defining moments in the history of Timisoara, bringing the monuments to life and offering a unique perspective on the city.
- develop immersive VR games and experiences, transporting players to different eras of Timisoara, from the Middle Ages to the modern era, providing them with an interactive and memorable learning journey.
- uses 3D modeling, augmented reality and virtual reality to transform Timisoara into a land of fascinating discoveries.
- designs and creates immersive VR games and experiences that transport players to different eras of Timisoara, providing them with an interactive and memorable learning experience.
