EDEN PhD Masterclass
PhD or master students, young researchers are invited to participate and register at the EDEN PhD Masterclass, Timisoara with the Theme: Digital Education which will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 (participation fee EUR 60). With renowned professors from Europe, the aim of the Masterclass is to facilitate the research collaboration of doctoral schools in education in Europe through international research and learning exchanges, addressing research perspectives from several fields with challenges encountered in education.
Topics addressed at the EDEN 2024 Research Workshops & PhD Masterclass in Timișoara:
Educational technologies
This theme will cover a wide range of emerging educational technologies beyond AI, focusing on open educational technologies, interoperability of educational systems, as well as principles of open education in digital assessment tools and collaborative online learning environments. Discussions will address how these technologies can improve engagement, accessibility and effectiveness in education, while also considering issues of openness, the digital divide and over-reliance on technology.
AI in education
On this theme, we invite papers that focus on how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing educational paradigms, the role of AI in personalizing learning experiences, in creating tools to automate administrative tasks, data literacy for AI, but also the impact on educational assessment, challenges such as ethical considerations, data privacy and the need for balanced human-AI interaction in pedagogy.
AR/VR in education
We invite papers that discuss the use of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) in educational settings. The presentations will highlight the practical applications of AR/VR in creating immersive learning experiences, particularly in creative industries and complex scientific simulations, and the challenges of ensuring educational quality in these virtual environments.
Micro-education and micro-credits
The conference will provide the space for discussions on the evolving concept of micro-education, the growing trend of micro-learning and micro-credits, highlighting their potential in providing flexible and skill-focused educational opportunities, with the challenges of assessment and validation, recognition and integration of these micro-credits in traditional educational frameworks.
Emerging topics in education
Other topics will highlight both the transformative potential of emerging technologies and the challenges that need to be addressed across the educational landscape, including VET, schools and training, with current trends, challenges and future prospects.
Digital research and education in European university alliances
One of the most important topics for European higher education, we invite papers that analyze how European university alliances stimulate collaboration in research and digital education. Discussions should highlight how these alliances promote innovation in higher education through joint research projects, shared digital platforms and cross-border educational initiatives, promoting internationalization and inclusion in education.
