Digital creation workshops and interactive tours during the green week, for students from Timisoara
Hundreds of students from Timisoara have discovered the applications Spotlight Heritage AR and VR, they learned to create illustrations and images that tell the city's moments and discovered the history of Timisoara and information technology. Guided by the UPT Department of ID/IFR and Digital Education team, the little ones spent the last weeks fascinated by technology, in digital creation workshops, as well as in the UPT Museum and ExperimentariumTM.
Actions are part of the Project Creative Schools – The stories of Timișoara initiated by the Politehnica University of Timișoara, through the Department of ID/IFR and digital education, together with "Grigore Moisil" Theoretical High School and General School no. 19 Timișoara – project that is part of The national cultural program "Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023”
Graphic design workshops dedicated to students
Team Spotlight Heritage Timisoaraa, through the Department of ID/IFR and digital education of the Politehnica University Timișoara, in partnership with the "Grigore Moisil" Theoretical High School Timișoara, through Prof. Magda Gurzun, organized a series of graphic design workshops dedicated to students, supported by experts from From UPT.
Together with the DeL team, the little ones experimented with notions of photo and video editing and assimilated theoretical concepts related to light or movement, learning to create illustrations that tell moments in the city's history or scenes inspired by local culture, using both traditional and modern design techniques.
Outdoor photo-video production
The theoretical notions were then applied by the little ones in the framework of practical activities: they took a walk in the open air, discovering the landmarks of Timișoara's neighborhoods within the Project Spotlight Heritage, which they photographed and filmed, both with personal phones and with professional video cameras.
Interactive tours of the UPT Museum and ExperimentariumTM
For a week, both students from General School no. 19, as well as those from the "Grigore Moisil" Theoretical High School enjoyed a series of interactive tours, guided by the Spotlight Heritage Timișoara team, at the UPT Museum, during the Open Doors Days: from MECIPT to Virtual Reality.
Here, the little ones explored Timișoara from now and before through the Spotlight Heritage Timișoara Virtual and mixed reality mobile applications, but also a lot of other interactive applications developed for educational purposes. In addition, the students also discovered the artistic universe of the city through the digital installation Tipare ale Poeziei (artist: Marius Jurca, 13m10j), they "grew" a virtual garden full of flowers with the help of the Physic AI Garden application (artists: Anna Dumitriu & Alex May , in collaboration with CAPABLE Project and BioArt Revolution, organized within the Romanian Science Festival), and tried games developed in augmented reality.
