The NETTIES (Networking Entities) International Conference, organized by the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, in collaboration with the International Association for eScience - IAFeS and E3UDRES2 (Alliance of European Universities) aims to bring together international experts from Austria, USA, Norway, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Lithuania, Greece and Romania.
In 2023, the conference was organised in Timisoara, Romania, in a hybrid format, and this year's theme focused on "Digital Society: synergies between art, culture and digital technologies". The event's agenda included presentations by 25 leading experts covering topics of great relevance in the fields of digital technologies and education. Participants who attended the conference, online or in person, were issued Open Badges (Open Digital Certificates), awarded by Politehnica University Timișoara , through the ID/IFR and e-Learning Centre (CeL) , the International Association for eScience - IAFeS and E3UDRES2 ( Alliance of European Universities ).

Digital Culture and Heritage & AugmentedWearEdu Workshops
This badge is awarded to people who presented at the "20th IAFeS International Conference NETTIES" and the Digital Culture and Heritage & AugmentedWearEdu Workshops on 25-26 May 2023, organized jointly by Politehnica University of Timisoara, International Association for eScience – IAFeS, E3UDRES2 European Universities Alliance, with the Theme "Digital Society: Synergies between Arts, Culture and Digital Technologies", with 27 international speakers and a program of 8 hours. The conference is part of the Timisoara 2023 European Capital of Culture Program and the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project (https://spotlight-timisoara.eu/en/) and brings a diverse category of international speakers, from the areas of education, science, creative industries, heritage and digital culture and partly from the E³UDRES² – European Universities Alliance (https://eudres.eu/) partner universities. To bring value to Timisoara's digital and cultural ecosystem a seminar was organized dedicated to the Augmented and Virtual Reality and to Wearables supported by the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project Integrating virtual and AUGMENTED reality with WEARable technology into engineering EDUcation (https://augmentedwearedu.uia.no/). Based on the concepts of the Spotlight Heritage Timisoara project and the Timisoara European Capital of Culture 2023 program, we discussed the way in which digital technologies have stimulated different innovations in education for the creative industries, scientific development in innovative sectors, and the way in which entrepreneurial activities can start from a junction between different creative instances and practices between, academics, industry, community and artists. The International Association for Science / Internationaler Verein für eScience (IAFeS) operates worldwide, with a focus on international collaboration and the promotion of science, based in Vienna, Austria. The association, which is a non-profit making body promotes the development, education and research in the area of eScience, including Information and communications technology (ICT), telecommunications, e-learning, e-media, e-culture, supports young researchers in these areas, offers an exchange platform for experts and for international co-operation.
