Given the current focus on citizens interacting with AI systems, Dr. Vuorikari's work focuses on developing a better understanding of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that citizens should have in order to engage with confidence, critique, and security. with AI systems.

It is part of the DigComp 2.2 update, which it is leading, in support of the EU's policy initiative for the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027).

Dr. Riina Vuorikari joined the European Commission's Joint Research Center (JRC) in July 2013. She contributes to research and policy support in the field of digital education and skills development. Her other topics cover areas such as teacher development and professional learning, educational creative spaces and AI in education.

Riina has degrees in education (M.Ed in 1998 in Finland) and hypermedia (DEA in 1999 in France). His PhD is from the Dutch Research School for Information and Knowledge Systems (2009). Since 1999, she has been working in the field of digital education. Her main interest is addressing issues related to the adoption of new technologies and innovation in education. Prior to joining JRC in Seville, she worked as a project manager and research analyst. Many of its clients were based in Brussels, including educational organizations such as European Schoolnet and national and regional authorities in the field of education (eg the Ministry of Education).

ABOUT US

The ID / IFR and e-Learning Center (CeL) was established in 1998, as an integral part of the Polytechnic University of Timişoara (UPT).
