Ekaterina Prasolova-Førland is a professor in the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Ekaterina has been working with virtual educational worlds and immersive technologies since 2002, with over 100 publications in the field. She has been involved in the development of educational virtual reality simulations for a wide range of recipients, from the aquatic agricultural industry to the Norwegian Armed Forces. Ekaterina founded and leads the Research Center for Innovative Innovative Technologies for Education (IMTEL) and the VR / AR (virtual and augmented reality) laboratory - IMTELlab. She is the founder of Women's organizations in VR / AR Norway, a member of the XR Norway board and is frequently invited as a speaker or interviewed on immersive technology topics for education and training. The IMTEL laboratory, coordinated by Prof. Ekaterina Prasolova-Førland is also involved in a number of projects related to the application of immersive technologies in STEM education, climate change awareness, training, medicine and therapy, career guidance, collaborative work, management emergencies and other areas.

Ekaterina Prasolova-Førland is a full Professor, Head of Innovative Immersive Technologies for Learning (IMTEL) research group and lab at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and board member of XR Norway. She has over 100 publications in the field of immersive tech for learning, being involved in developing educational XR simulations for a wide range of stakeholders, from the aquaculture industry and hospitals to the Norwegian Armed Forces and Labor and Welfare Administration. NTNU is the leading technological university in Norway. IMTEL group researches innovative immersive technologies for learning in several contexts, ranging from university education to emergency and medical training and workplace training. The group has founded and actively uses the IMTEL VR lab at the Dragvoll campus. The lab is a top-modern and unique research facility devoted to educational immersive technologies without equal in Norway. The lab serves as a hub for cross-disciplinary education and research activities.
