Abstract: The impact of open digital technologies and Blockchain in the educational environment in Romania
Prof. Carmen Holotescu will talk about the impact and development of digital technologies for education in Romania, with an emphasis on principles of open education, and how they have been developed over the past 20 years. Because in recent years her interest resides in blockchain development for education, she will also focus on how new technology can change education systems and share experiences from EBSI projects.
About Carmen Holotescu
"Ioan Slavici" University Timișoara
Carmen Holotescu is a professor and rector of "Ioan Slavici" University in Timișoara and director of Center for Open Education and Blockchain. She holds a PhD focused on new technologies and open education.
- Since 2000, she has been involved in 36 national and European projects, with extensive experience in the design and implementation of learning platforms and programs based on open pedagogies.
- She has developed research papers, guidelines, conducted blended learning and training sessions related to eopen education, open educational resources, massive open online courses (MOOCs), blockchain and artificial intelligence.
- In addition, she contributed to developing policy strategies and recommendations in these areas. Carmen is the author of over 150 articles and book chapters, quoted above 2 600 times.
- she is also certified online instructor at the University of Maryland University College, USA, where he facilitated online courses for 12 years.
