The international jury particularly appreciated the way the project embraced and promoted the latest innovations in digital technologies. Combining past and present personal memories with historical and architectural data, through the digital overlay of intangible heritage, Digital Spotlight Heritage Timi\u0219oara offered a demonstration of cultural mediation, using all types of emerging digital technologies to provide multiple platforms for exploration. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-5087b6d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"5087b6d\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-b2e2437\" data-id=\"b2e2437\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4cf3a62 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4cf3a62\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Digital itineraries for 110 historical landmarks in Timi\u0219oara<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-edbb9a5 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"edbb9a5\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-9023eae\" data-id=\"9023eae\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-58d6128 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"58d6128\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the coordination of the Department of ID\/IFR and Digital Education together with the Multimedia Center - Politehnica University Timi\u0219oara, over the last 5 years the digital and physical itineraries of <\/span><b>110 historical and cultural landmarks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from 5 Timisoara neighborhoods, which divulge their stories through multiple layers: o <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/spotlight-timisoara.eu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>web page<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0<\/span><b>mobile applications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Spotlight Heritage Timi\u0219oara, which can be downloaded from the Android and Apple stores, online from 2019, with a new neighborhood being added every year. An application of <\/span><b>virtual reality<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (history and heritage) was created from 2021, every year a new neighborhood is added and a <\/span><b>mixed reality app<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, holographic, with <\/span><b>3D heritage artifacts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been available since 2022, with a new neighborhood added each year. At the same time, SH Culture App \u2013 application of <\/span><b>augmented reality applications,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for heritage and <\/span><b>panoramic views of Timisoara<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were available from 2023, along with <\/span><b>3 NFTs <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cultural, happenings and dance performances and street theater with digital technologies, <\/span><b><i>International Festival of Culture and Digital Heritage<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, events and digital installations <\/span><b>XR Show<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Timi\u0219oara and European cities, hybrid openings, cultural mediation and guided and virtual tours, <\/span><b><i>International Spotlight Heritage Student Contest<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the international conference <\/span><b><i>Digital Culture &amp; Heritage Talks<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a final catalog.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-ca41569 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"ca41569\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-4f29bb2\" data-id=\"4f29bb2\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9e853a1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9e853a1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Digital artifacts developed by UPT students in international teams\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-9126f0b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"9126f0b\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-59c6b13\" data-id=\"59c6b13\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e07dc7d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e07dc7d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The VR and MR applications were developed in two innovative contexts: as an interactive virtual mobility between three partner European universities in Italy, Norway and Denmark, whose students worked together with UPT students in international teams, integrated in <\/span><b><i>International Spotlight Heritage Student Contest 2021, 2022 and 2023<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as well as VR and MR materials dedicated to sustainable and virtual cultural tourism.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the partner universities that have collaborated with the Politehnica University of Timi\u0219oara for the development of digital applications are Universita Modena e Reggio Emilia, Roma Tre University (Italy), Agder University (Norway), and Aalborg University (Denmark).<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-1dfc269 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"1dfc269\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-1e36648\" data-id=\"1e36648\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-763255d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"763255d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main developers of the digital applications, participants in the International Spotlight Heritage Student Contest were Marius T\u0103taru and Emilian Porumb, together with Ilie-Silviu Berzescu and Radu Stamatoiu (Universitatea Politehnica Timi\u0219oara), who worked in mixed international teams, among which were Christian Bodskov, Oliver Engermann, Peter Guld Leth, Oskar Bill Zhou (Aalborg University, Denmark), Eliana Maria Torre, Giulia Innocentini, Doresita Marino, Luca Contardi and Giulia Vigo (Universit\u00e0 di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Italy), Ilaria Filonzi \u2013 Universit\u00e0 di Genova (Italy), Mara Valente \u2013 Universit\u00e0 Roma Tre (Italy), Inge Johan Johannson and Minh Tuan Hua \u2013 University of Agder (Norway). The photo and video images were made by Rafael Leucu\u021ba \u2013 Universitatea Politehnica Timi\u0219oara, the graphics of the applications by Sorina Gavriliuc-Voina, while the innovative creation of the 3 cultural NFTs belongs to the UPT doctoral student, Victor Tourism Destination&quot; Awards was organized by ECTN in partnership with Europa Nostra, the European Tourism Commission and NECSTouR, within <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">European Capital of Smart Tourism Dublin 2024<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the distinction being handed to the project coordinator from UPT, dr. <\/span><b>Diana Andone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in Dublin, within <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">International Conference for Cultural Tourism in Europe &quot;European collaboration for smart and
