"DidaTec" training program in
blended-learning, modern educational technologies
and the use of ICT in the teaching process

The “DidaTec” training program in blended-learning, modern educational technologies and the use of ICT in the teaching process aims at training existing teachers at the level of technical universities and faculties in Romania. The duration of the training program is 9 months, it ends with the issuance of a certificate of attestation of skills is carried out through the UPL eLearning Center.

DidaTec training program

The DidaTec training program aims to bring more quality and competitiveness to technical and engineering higher education in Romania by providing teachers with the means and techniques necessary to modernize the teaching process. Thus, the people involved in this program will gain new skills regarding various modern information tools and technologies, using them to increase the interactivity of the courses taught and implicitly the relationship with students. The use of these new techniques will materialize especially in the transformation of course materials from physical format, with low interactivity and the possibility of using and assessing the impact on students quite limited, in materials in electronic format, with extensive possibilities of use and interactive evaluation.
From a professional point of view, the gain that this effort will bring to teachers is twofold: firstly because it will facilitate their teaching and evaluation work at the department, and secondly because these new skills will help them to -structure academic papers according to the latest publishing rigors.

Motivation of participants

The DidaTec training program brings many pluses / benefits to its participants. A first aspect is that of the future acquired competences, such as:

  • Application of information and communication tools and technologies in the teaching process in blended-learning and e-learning scenarios for the field of engineering sciences
  • Exemplification and use of the main functionalities offered by the e-learning platform of the DidaTec project and, respectively, of the partner universities
  • Design and development of a course material in electronic format, on the specifics of blended-learning and e-learning training
  • Design and development of a support material for applications in electronic format, on the specifics of blended-learning and e-learning training for the field of engineering sciences
  • Evaluation of students' activity with the help of tools and facilities offered by the e-learning platform of the DidaTec project and the university, respectively

Other benefits of the DidaTec training program and participation in it are:

  • The uniqueness of the program, DidaTec being the only training program in Romania dedicated exclusively to teachers in the field of engineering training
  • The homogeneity of the program, through the unitary vision on the way of accomplishing the didactic materials in electronic format developed with the participation of 10 the most important institutions of technical higher education in the country
  • The use of a computer support platform for the development of teaching, communication and exchange of educational resources (both between teachers and between them and students), common to the 10 participating universities
  • Increasing the attractiveness and interest of students in the discipline, as a result of improving its interactivity
  • Possibility of multiple use in the future of developed teaching materials (conducting teaching activities with students, organizing professional trainings, publishing, etc.)
  • Obtaining a monthly scholarship during the program (9 months)

 

 Organization of the first training series (March 1, 2012 - November 30, 2012)  

Conditions for participation:

University teachers with disciplines belonging to technical higher education / University teachers in technical higher education, holder of a teaching portfolio (CD / DVD and / or library - with the teaching and scientific material used as support in the training program for the course with which discipline participates in the training program).

Number of places available in the first training series (March 1, 2012 - November 30, 2012):

P2 - Polytechnic University of Timisoara - 60 places

Evaluation criterias :

  • Evaluation of the registration file
  • Interview

Documents required for registration (File):

  • Educational CV in EUROPASS format
  • Competence questionnaire completed in full and signed
  • Existing or proposed discipline sheet The discipline sheet (existing or proposed) for which the candidate wishes to make all materials in electronic format Candidates who are not holders of the discipline must present the written consent of the holder of the discipline.
  • Declaration on own responsibility for possession of preliminary scientific / didactic material

Interview supporting documents:

  • CD / DVD + bookcase with preliminary teaching / scientific material
